Trade-In Form

Condition: We understand that your equipment can be put under many different types of stress in the field, with some being more damaging than others. Here is a list of some common forms of damage and deterioration, and how they affect the trade-in value of your equipment.

Scuffing: Scuffing is very common for most collars and handhelds. It wont affect the value of your trade-in in all but the worst cases. If your equipment is scuffed or rubbed to the point where the interior seal or interior components are visible the equipment will have its value affected, or be considered “broke”.

Bite/Teeth Marks and Gnawing: Bite marks are very common on collars. The severity and number of the bite marks are the main concerns here. If your collar has only a few small/medium marks, or even several light teeth marks it isn’t a cause for concern and will not affect the value. Large/Deep bite marks that have punched through to the internals of the collars, or severely affect the appearance of the collar are cause for “broke” status. Minor gnawing is common and will not affect the value of a collar. Major gnawing that has removed pieces of plastic off of the collar and/or has severely affected the appearance of the collar will be cause for “broke” status.  Bite marks or gnawing on a handheld will affect the value of a handheld. Any major damage to the gps antenna, or casing will be cause for “broke” status.

Carvings, Markings, and Paint: Names, Phone Numbers, and I.D. Numbers that are scratched, carved, or melted into a collar or handheld will affect its value to varying degrees. If the marking can be rubbed out or effectively blurred with sandpaper the value will not be affected. Paint on collars or handhelds that can be cleaned and removed by with relative ease will not affect value. Large, deep carvings or substantial amounts of paint on the main body of a collar or handheld will affect the value of a trade-in, or be cause for “broke” status. Markings or paint on the back plates of DC30 and DC40 collars will not affect value in any way.

Dry Rot: Dry rot is found on the rubber strap between the main housing of the unit and the GPS locator on DC50, T5, T5 mini, TT10, TT15, and TT15 mini collars. It happens fastest when the collar is stored in poor conditions and is the most common on TT10 collars.  It mainly occurs right at the base of the main housing (1,2,5), along the GPS locator wire(1), and near the GPS locator. Any dry rot that separates two parts of the strap, Exposes the GPS locator wire, or covers large areas of the strap with cracks is cause for “broke” status. Straps that have had their dry rot taped over will still be counted as “broke”.
